Police responded around 7:11 a.m. to the Manhattan-bound platform at Junction Boulevard station, near the border of Jackson Heights and Corona, within the NYPD’s 115th Precinct and Transit District 20.

Officers discovered an unconscious man on the tracks, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Authorities do not suspect criminal activity. According to police sources, an eyewitness reported seeing the man fall onto the tracks.

Service on the 7 train is currently running local between 74th Street–Broadway and Mets–Willets Point, with delays following the incident. Trains were partially suspended earlier in the morning. The MTA is advising commuters to consider the E, F, M, or R lines as alternatives.

In a separate incident, police also responded to a report of a person on the tracks at the 86th Street station on the 5 line in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. That individual was able to get off the tracks without being struck or seriously injured.
